“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.” - Acts 4:31

The purpose of the Shaken Prayer Ministry is to actively encourage and promote prayer within the life of the church. By being open and responsive to the working of the Holy Spirit, we pray that God's love, guidance and healing power would be released for the benefit of His people and to His glory.

A number of years ago, Dr. Billy Graham was speaking to a group of clergy in England. One of the young preachers asked Dr. Graham, “If you could change anything or if you could do anything different in your ministry, what would it be?” After all of the success and the incredible ministry that he had, you would think that there would be nothing he would change. However without hesitation, Dr. Graham said “Without question, I would speak less and pray more.” The great Dr. Graham, with all he has seen and all he has accomplished, if he could do it all over again, he would pray more.

The disciples spent 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with Jesus and could have asked Him to teach them anything. However the one thing they asked Him to teach them to do was to pray. The goal of our Prayer Ministry is to help you to learn the incredible, awesome power available to you through prayer. You will see that there are a number of ways that you can participate in the prayer ministry of our church. You may decide to become a part of more than one but the goal is to encourage you to pray.

WATCHMAN Prayer
The Watchman on the Wall is a vital part of our prayer ministry. The goal of this ministry is to intercede on behalf of the ministries of our church. The warriors will use their prayer time to ask God to put a hedge of protection around our church fellowship and also to intercede on behalf of the ministries of our church. Their prayer time can be done anywhere they can be alone with God. A Watchman’s Prayer Alert is published each month with specific prayer needs from Lake Deerwood Fellowship. Sister Terry is available each Sunday to answer questions and to enlist prayer warriors.

PRAYER CHAIN
The LDF prayer chain is a network of individuals who will receive urgent prayer requests, pray immediately, and forward the prayer request to the next available person in the chain. The importance of the prayer chain is that it faithfully intercedes on behalf of the congregation and those in need by lifting up specific requests, concerns and emergency situations. If you are interested in becoming part of the prayer chain, contact Terry @ 903-777-1872.

INTERCESSORY PRAYER
This ministry prays over the needs of people listed on our weekly Prayer Points Sheet. They have a heart for the needs of others, and take them before God. An intercessor’s heart is touched for those in need. They have a burden for those they pray for. They let the Spirit give them comfort about it, instead of worrying. And when word of results comes, they celebrate and are happy about it. Tuesday Prayer Meetings
The mid-week service at Lake Deerwood Fellowship is devoted to fellowship and prayer. After a meal and fellowship, Pastor Skip teaches a brief yet powerful lesson about prayer followed by an extensive time of corporate intercession. Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate.
