Steps to Knowing God
God's
Desire:
God loves you and
wants to have a personal relationship with you.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Man's
Condition:
Sin keeps you from
having this relationship with God.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
You cannot solve
this problem yourself.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith --
and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no
one can boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
God's
Provision:
Jesus died and
rose to forgive your sin.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we
were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
A new life from Christ is the only way to have your sin forgiven.
In reply Jesus declared,
"I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God
unless he is born again."
John 3:3
Jesus answered,
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to
the Father except through me."
John 14:6
Man's
Responsibility:
God will give you
this new life now if you will ---
Repent or turn from your sin.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be
wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
Acts 3:19
You Can
Be Saved Now
If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in
your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9
With the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one
confesses, resulting in salvation.
Romans
10:10
But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God, to
those who believe in His name, John 1:12
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans
10:13
You can Know that Your Salvation is Forever
I have written
these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may
know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor
things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height,
nor depth, nor any other created thing will have the power to separate us from
the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!
Romans
8:38,39
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish--ever! No one will snatch
them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all.
No one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. John 10:28,29
